5) Introduction

Solid rigid casing centralizers are suitable for deviated wells and horizontal wells, to help center the casing in the wellbore, allowing even distribution of the cement around the casing during cementing operations.
The rotating casing centralizer is ideal for running casing in irregular well bores. These centralizers guide the casing and provide flexibility for the casing string.

6) Features for Rotating Casing Centralizers:

a.  The angled fins create a swirling fluid motion.
b.  The radial motion of fluids eliminates channeling.
c.  The tapered vanes at the top and bottom reduce drag during running into the casing or wellbore.
 
7) Installation

Rigid centralizers can be installed on the casing with stop collars or with integral set screws. Installations that allow casing rotation and reciprocation are preferred because of improved displacement efficiency. Most slip-on rigid centralizers must be installed between stop collars and are freely floating there between.
