5) Application

The Cementing Head is a special tool for pumping slurry and releasing plug. It makes the drilling fluid fill into casing in turn and quickly. This can simplify the cementing operation and prevent cement pollution.

6) How to work

A device fitted to the top joint of a casing string to hold a cement plug before it is pumped down the casing during the cementing operation. In most operations, a bottom plug is launched before the spacer or cement slurry. The top plug is released from the cement head after the spacer fluid. Most cement heads can hold both the top and bottom plugs. A manifold incorporated into the cement head assembly allows connection of a fluid circulation line.

7) Structure of Cementing Head

It is consist of top cap, body, manifold, stop pin, quick joint(including quick union), seal rubber ring, indicator.
 
8) Features of Cementing Head

a. Quick-latch adapter is designed to offer easier, faster and safer makeup for cementing casing.
b. Able to couple with two plugs simultaneously. Simplify the cementing operation and prevent cement pollution.
c. Positive lever indicates plug releasing.
d. Balance pipe is developed.
