Casing centralizers help center the casing in the wellbore during the cementing operations, allowing the cement to be evenly distributed around the casing string. The degree to which the casing is centered (standoff) depends on the performance of centralizer and the spacing between the centralizers installed on the casing OD.
7) Function
a. Take casing to designed position by reducing sticking while casing going down.
b. Centralize casing in well.
c. Balance liquid pressure in annular space by reducing adhesion phenomenon.
d. Improving replacing ratio of mud and boosting cementing quality by reducing channeling effect.
8) Features of Bow Spring Casing Centralizers:
a. Designed for high restoring force and low starting & running force
b. The larger bows provide complete centralization in vertical or slightly deviated wells.
c. Due to the flexibility of bows, they can pass through narrow hole sections and expand in the targeted locations.
d. Undergo special coating process to prevent from rust
e. For hinged bow spring casing centralizers, end collars are designed with self-locking action, which are easy to assemble and can be shipped in half assembled condition for less shipping and storage costs.
9) Features for Solid Rigid Casing Centralizers:
a. Shock, impact and corrosion resistant.
b. High tensile and yield strengths.
c. Available with straight or spiral blades.
d. Helps ensure positive centering in deviated or horizontal holes.
e. Helps prevent differential sticking while running casing.
