6) Application
Bow spring casing centralizers are to help center the casing in the wellbore, allowing even distribution of the cement around te casing during cementing operations, more suitable for vertical well.
Solid rigid casing centralizers are suitable for deviated wells and horizontal wells, to help center the casing in the wellbore, allowing even distribution of the cement around te casing during cementing operations.
 
7) Features for solid rigid casing centralizers:
 
a. Hinged and slip-on versions available.
b. Shock, impact and corrosion resistant.
c. High tensile and yield strengths.
d. Available with straight or spiral blades.
e. Helps ensure positive centering in deviated or horizontal holes.
f. Helps prevent differential sticking while running casing.
 
8) Features for bow spring casing centralizers:
 
a. Designed for high restoring force and low starting&running force
b. Undergo special coating process to prevent from rust
c.  For hinged bow spring casing centralizers, end collars are designed with self-locking action, which are easy to assemble and can be shipped in half assembled condition for less shipping and storage costs.
 
9) Installation
 
Casing centralizers can be installed on the casing with stop collars or with integral set screws. Installations that allow casing rotation and reciprocation are preferred because of improved displacement efficiency. Most slip-on rigid centralizers must be installed between stop collars and are freely floating there between.
